A food-shopping and tasting itinerary from Taylor's Love Solferino B&B, Via Solferino 56, Zone 1, two minutes from Moscova (M2).
This route is for people who travel to eat and to bring the flavours home. It runs from Eataly's temple of Italian produce, through a historic covered market, down to the canal-side food streets of the Navigli – a full day of tasting, shopping and grazing that starts at our B&B in Brera. Bring an empty bag and an empty stomach.

Stop 1 – Eataly Milano Smeraldo
Six minutes from the door, in a converted historic theatre, Eataly gathers the best of Italian food and wine over several floors: cheese and cured meats, fresh pasta, olive oil, a wine wall, and counters where you can eat what you have just seen made. It is the perfect first stop to taste, learn and shop.
Stop 2 – A Historic Covered Market
Fifteen minutes on, step into one of Milan's covered markets, where fishmongers, greengrocers and delis have traded for generations. Buy a wedge of Parmigiano, a jar of Ligurian pesto or a slice of focaccia, and eat like a local between the stalls.
Stop 3 – Canal-Side on the Navigli
Finish along the Naviglio Grande, where the old towpaths are lined with delis, bakeries and osterie. On the last Sunday of the month the great antiques market fills the banks; any day, it is the most atmospheric place in Milan to end a food pilgrimage with a glass of wine by the water.

Tappa 1 – Eataly Milano Smeraldo. A sei minuti dalla porta, in un ex teatro storico: formaggi, salumi, pasta fresca, olio, la parete dei vini e i banchi dove mangi ciò che hai appena visto preparare.
Tappa 2 – Mercato coperto storico. Quindici minuti e si entra in uno dei mercati coperti milanesi, dove pescivendoli, fruttivendoli e gastronomie lavorano da generazioni. Un pezzo di Parmigiano, un vasetto di pesto, una focaccia: si mangia da local tra i banchi.
Tappa 3 – Sui Navigli. Si chiude lungo il Naviglio Grande, tra gastronomie, panetterie e osterie. L'ultima domenica del mese c'è il grande mercatino dell'antiquariato; ogni giorno, il posto più suggestivo per finire con un calice sull'acqua.
